Last Thursday night was a mommy daughter culture night at the school. Tera, Shay and I headed over and learned about Europe, South America, and Egypt. We did hieroglyphics, watched a movie about castle life in mid evil times, looked for puzzle pieces in sand, did rope swings, hula hoops, scooters, and balance beams. The girls and I had a great time, especially trying to do hula hoops together (I guess I don't have the hips I used to have!). Anyway, it was a very fun night and we can't wait to do it again next year! Friday was another snow day, but it wasn't snow, it was freezing rain! I think this was the worst ice storm that I have seen since we moved to Maryland. It was amazing at how much ice was on our sidewalk. It was another perfect day to finish the science project board. Saturday... oh what a crazy day! In the morning we finished up Teralyn's science project board, helped her get talk ready for Sunday, went out and bought a cake and candles, got the kids in the

Shaylee Turns 6

Image
Shaylee turned 6 yesterday. She was so excited all week. It was all she could talk about. So, this is how our day went: I thought it would be fun to have lunch with my Shay at school, so I dropped my kids off at Nicole's, grabbed a happy meal from Wendy's, and headed on over. We had a great time, Shay was excited I came. It was good to see how she fits in with her class. I had forgotten how much energy kindergarteners can have. Shay is pretty mellow, so it fun to see how she handled it. She seemed very content, I was proud of her. On the way to her class her music teacher stopped me and we talked about Shay for a few minutes. She mentioned how much she loves her and how sweet and quiet she is in class. Then she said, "you are expecting a baby aren't you?". I was a little shocked, but just smiled and said no. She was embarrassed, so I tried to change the subject. I am just trying to justify it to myself that it's because I had my huge coat on...right? Either

Image
I have been bagged tagged by Jenni, so here goes... Here is my purse that I bought last year. It is so much bigger than my old one. I'm not sure how I carried around anything before. Now, I can carry around just about everything. Anyway, here are the things I found in my bag... lotion 3 diapers bib baby spoons (2 of them. I was wondering where they all ended up) baby change of clothes. (this is a necessity!) wallet cell phone 3 binkies (another necessity) 2 chapsticks pen 1 lone baby sock tissues hair elastic (you never know with four girls!) baby toy sunglasses Aleve (just in case) and lots of receipts (I left those out of the picture). Yes, my purse has become a diaper bag with a few extras..... Okay, I tag Liz, Elizabeth, and Dawn.

National Cathedral with Michelle

Image
This last weekend we spent a little more time with my sweet sister in law, Michelle. She is a dietitian in Utah and every year gets to come to DC to go to a conference. So, we are lucky enough to get to have her stay with us for the weekend before and the weekend after and we always love it so much. Since Michelle has been out many times before, she has probably seen more sights out here than we have. This time we thought we would mostly just talk and let our girls have a little visit with their aunt (it has been since summer that we have had family out!! boo hoo!) Anyway, we had a great time with her and she got to go ice skating and bowling. I know, she comes all the way out for that??? To give us a little credit, we also took her to the National Cathedral (which she was hoping to see last time, but we didn't get around to it). Bri took off last Friday from work and since the girls didn't have school we decided to do that. Well, the cathedral is beautiful. It totally reminded

Birthday celebration and 1500 flies!!!

Birthday Party Okay, so I haven't written about my birthday celebration yet. I know, I know, get on with it, it was last Saturday night. Well, I have just had a couple of other posts that I wanted to get out and then didn't get around to it. Anyway, last Saturday night some friends had a birthday celebration for Nicole Jensen and I at La Madeline's in Columbia. It was a lot of fun. I felt bad that I didn't bring a camera, but we had about 15 or so friends meet us there and my sweet friend Jenni even bought me cheesecake and hot chocolate! It was yummy! We had a lot of fun just talking and laughing. Especially when the subject got changed to Twilight. It always does doesn't it? Thank you my friends for the fun celebration! I had a great time. (: The Fly project So, yesterday we had an ice day (where school was canceled) and thank goodness we did! Shaylee hadn't finished her valentines yet and it took at least two, maybe three hours to get them done. Phew!!! Also

A Few Milestones....

Phew! After a week of fever and the flu, I am finally feeling better and up again. Brian has been great though and even stayed home for a few days to help me out. Anyway, it's been a crazy, busy week. We have had company from my cute sister in law, Michelle and the girls have really been enjoying her and so have we (especially during scripture study where they all sit on her lap and not mine!! Hee hee). Also, this last week Raegan broke two teeth (finally!) and she learned to use the push toy to walk around a little. She also learned the joys of crawling on the dishwasher. Argh! If you look closely, you can see that cute little tooth... Okay, the other thing that happened is that we took our girls bowling! We had a blast. The girls were loving it and we got some cute pictures. The best part about it was watching Ashtyn. She would take her big old bowling ball, put it on the ground and give it a swift kick! We laughed so hard every time. I tried and tried to get a picture of that ki
