Warning: This Is Long! Just skip to the pictures if you like (: Wow, where has my summer gone. Man, it's been a whirl wind. Well, I won't kill anyone (or myself) by explaining every detail, but hopefully I can summarize a lot of it without overwhelming. It was a rough start to summer for our family. I couple days into it, I was running and had a huge biff on some gravel and sprained my ankle. It looked like a tennis ball and was so painful. I was pretty bummed out since I know how long sprains take to heal, and I had some fun summer plans ahead. Argh! I have sprained my ankle before many times, but I don't remembering going through something like this before. Could it be that I am just getting older? Hmm... I don't know, but my leg ached (especially at night for weeks.) After about six weeks it finally stopped making my leg ache, and now after nine weeks, I feel much much better, although it's still a little sore. Well, then we had our water pipe break. We have a swamp in our front yard. Yes, there is a leak in the main water pipe leading to our house. We noticed a little puddle about two weeks ago and thought it was just from the rain, but it spread and spread and pretty soon our grass was green and growing like crazy, I had to weed every few days, and our neighbors grass kept getting yellower and yellower. It didn't even occur to me that it could be a pipe leak. I guess with homeownership you should just assume the worst right? Well, I was finally mentioning it to our neighbor and she brought it up and said she had to have hers replaced two years ago. So.... we have called a very popular plumber (I'm assuming he's popular since we have only seen about five minutes of him so far) and are just waiting for the day where we get our nice green grass dug up and our dead bushes taken out (at least we have an excuse to get new bushes though!). Okay, where has the time gone? Has it really been that long since I have posted? And I thought the summer would give me more time... So, instead of giving a huge summary of my last two and a half weeks, I am going to quickly recap what we have been up to: End of school activities: kindergarten luau, volunteer appreciation assembly, kindergarten picnic, last day of school parties. Savage Fest- This is a little festival by the Savage Mill that we go to every year. We did this quickly (it was a really hot day!), but the girls had fun on the pony and horse rides and the moon bounces. Father's Day- Good day. We had stuffed shells, Bri got a digital picture frame for his office, lots of home made cards and we made calls to our dads. Brian even got breakfast in bed this year (my kids couldn't believe he slept in longer than mommy!) Play Dates- a necessity in the summer I've decided. When Ashtyn was in preschool they had an eye exam for all the little preschoolers. I thought for sure that she would pass. Well, we got a letter a couple weeks back saying she didn't pass and that she has an astigmatism. Ugh! I was really sad about that one because I have an astigmatism and can't wear contacts because of it, and therefore have been cursed with glasses since I was in kindergarten (I'm still holding off until lasik is 100% guaranteed.) Anyway, today we went in to check out the verdict for her eyes. We went to a great pediatric opthamologist in Clarksville (I hear the best in Maryland) and low and behold, she has great vision! I was so happy. She even saw things better than I did with my glasses on. The doctor said she did have a slight astigmatism, but nothing to worry about yet, and a little far sightedness (I guess it's common in children), but a 20/25 record. Horray! So no glasses for my little one quite yet. Raegan took her first step a couple of days...

During our sick time, I missed a few things, so hopefully I can make this a quick catch up post... Last Tuesday we went to Enrichment night at school (yes, I drugged everyone up, we just couldn't miss this!). The Enrichment fair is basically a time where the kids and the teachers, can show off what they have been doing all year. We were so excited to go because Teralyn was in a play and she was also doing a transportation presentation and a power point presentation. We just couldn't miss it. Well, the Motrin worked wonders for Tera. The play was so cute. Tera was the April page in the play and had about two or three lines, but did them very well. Well, Shay was barely making it, so after the play we quickly went to see Shaylee's classroom and all her art, and Ashtyn, Shay, and I decided we should go quarantine ourselves again. When it rains it pours. At least when it comes to sicknesses in our family lately. It all started about two weeks ago when Raegan got Roseola. Just a day or so after she recovered Ashtyn came down with a fever. At first I thought maybe Roseola, but it seemed a little different, her fever wasn't as high. Well, her fever broke and then she started complaining of a sore throat. So we checked and yes, she had blisters covering her mouth and her tonsils. Pour girl! I knew right away it was Hand Foot and Mouth disease. So, we sent her to bed and I started thinking and wondering about this weird rash that had just appeared on my leg. I had been having hip and leg pain for a couple of days (just on my left side) and now I had this rash. Could it be Hand Foot and Mouth? Well, I looked it up and realized that it was probably Shingles!! Could I actually have Shingles at my age? I didn't even consider it until then because I thought I was too young. I quickly called my mom and she suggeste...

Raegan turned one on Sunday. We made her a small cake, set it on a plate in the middle of a sheet and let her go at it. Out of all our kids, she is the first one to actually get in and get messy with it. We were quite impressed. As you can tell with the video, she quite enjoyed it herself. We had a fun birthday party for Raegy with just our family. The girls gave her a little swimming pool and Bri and I gave her a dump truck that she can sit on and push herself around. She loved it, or at least the box. We had her favorite dinner, mashed potatoes (we also had roast beef, but didn't think she would appreciate that yet). When she saw those potatoes she threw a fit waiting for them to cool off. Who knew you could love potatoes so much. She also likes broccoli, so we threw that in and just for fun some watermelon. Well, basically she ate the potatoes and searched around on her plate until she found every last little crumb. Everything else ended up on the floor. She was in heaven... It...
