Teralyn Turns the Big 7!!

I am now a mother of a seven year old!! Am I really that old? I can't believe it has been seven years since Teralyn was born. Well, it's been worth every minute! I have to say though, as most of you know, I wasn't sure at the beginning. We had a rough six months, but when she grew out of that, she has been the sweetest girl in the world. Seriously, I don't know if they come sweeter. I sure feel lucky to have her.



Tera shares her birthday with her teacher Ms. Martin, so this morning she spent making her a bracelet. When she got home we had her favorite dinner (stuffed shells) and a little family party (her friend party is on Saturday). Brian joked with her all week that she was getting a yellow m&m from him, so that is what she got... (: Her face was pretty funny when she really did get it. Anyway, she also got a Web Kinz(stuffed animal that you can feed and take care of on the Internet) and a password journal. We had a fun evening.


Some fun things about Teralyn

Favorite color, blue and yellow.
Could do crafts all day (if I let her).
Prays every night that she can be happy and kind.
Very empathetic.
Afraid of dogs and butterflies.
Tries hard to take risks (which doesn't come easy to her).
An excellent reader and writer.
Favorite subject is math and art.
Tries her hardest to pleas her parents and teachers.
Wants to be a doctor or a teacher someday.
Wants to be a mother of 15 kids (:
Loves grapes.
Favorite dinner, stuffed shells.
Loves to be outside with friends.
Hates nuts.
Is kind and has many friends.
Two of her best friends right now, Emily and Abby.
Hates contention and will avoid it at all costs!

Happy Birthday! I remember she was always such a good girl when I taught her in primary. It's hard to believe that was 2 years ago!

Happy Birthday Teralyn! 7 Wow! I thought 6 was big. What a beautiful girl. Hope she had a great day. Seems like yesterday we were at her, "My Little Pony" birthday party. Oh, and I love the photos of her & the way you posed all 4 of your girls. So darling!

Wow, 15 kids- that beats Annelise's 10 kids. Blue & yellow, eh?- nice change from pink. J/K I just know you love pink!

Happy Birthday! Such cute pictures of her. She only wants 15 kids? Maybe she'll want more when she realizes how easy it is :)
I guess we'll take back the dog we bought her for her birthday since she doesn't like them....

She is a sweetie. I remember when your family first moved in. Tera was just about a year old, and you were very pregnant and sick, so Brian brought Teralyn to church every week. She was a doll then, and she's a doll now. Although if she's serious about the 15 kids, make sure she knows about adoption ;)

Jeff and I feel old. We remember taking her berry picking and she kept sitting right on the raspberries. She's such a lovely girl, and she looks so much like you, Brenda! Tell her we said "Happy Birthday":)

Shay's B-day, Maple syrup, and Cryosurgery

This last week has been a little crazy for our family. Most of us have been sick (except Brian, Shay, and I) so it's been fun battling fevers and antibiotics, but also trying to do field trips, volunteering at school, doctors appointments, science projects, birthdays, basketball, ballet, iceskating etc. Whew!! I'm glad it's over. Although today is a catch up day on Tera and Shay's science projects, so I will let you know if we survive or not. Okay, a little recap on some of the things we did this last week. *I went on a really fun field trip with Ashtyn and her preschool. We went to Brookside Nature Center to see the Maple tree farm they have. I have to tell you, it was one of my favorite field trips I have ever been on. Club Feet

Brynley was born with club feet. She had to have casts on both legs up to her thighs for eight weeks. She had new casts put on every week and a half to two weeks. During this time she had surgery on her tendons so they will grow longer. She finally graduated to braces that she had to wear night and day for six weeks. Now, she is out of her braces during the day and just wears them at night until she is four or five years. Phew! It's been a long process, but we are just grateful that this is the only problem she has had to deal with. So, here are some pictures of her casts and braces, thought you might enjoy! The Birth Story....

I've been putting writing the birth story off because it's not really something I want to relive, but I decided I need to write it to remember some of my feelings and blessings that I have. And of course, to have those of you who are curious to catch up... so here goes... On the 24th, the morning of the c-section everything was going just fine. Brian was there early, and even though I was a little nervous, we said prayer and felt everything would be okay. The prep was fine, and the surgery started. Brian came in after the spinal and it quickly proceeded. It seemed like it was taking quite a lot longer to get Brynley out than I expected. I started to get the feeling things weren't going well. When they finally did get her out, she didn't cry for quite a while which was scary, but when she finally did we were so relieved.
