Superhero???

On Sunday I was doing my usual morning routine, trying to get all four of my girls to church on time while their dad is at morning meetings. Every Sunday I barely make it right before church starts, well most Sundays. Sometimes I just slip in the back too embarrassed to take my whole crew in front of everyone to the seat Brian saves for us.

Well, Sunday was no exception. I was barely going to be on time, so I was pretty much stepping on the gas. After a while my Ashtyn noticed and said, "Mom, your not a superhero, you are driving too fast!". I just laughed and said, "I'm not huh?". She said, "no, daddy is the superhero, he drives really fast!".

Yes, it's true... he does. It cracks me up that my three year old noticed though. So, after a few more minutes of superhero status Ashtyn said, "mom, you are a superhero now, you are zooming!".
Well, I guess I have made it... at least according to a three year old. (:

Kids are the greatest! But hey even if you don't drive as fast, aren't all moms the superheros? That's what I thought anyway!:)

Very funny. Wait until they start telling you, you are breaking the law. My kids all read road speed limit signs, and get mad at me if I am not obeying the speed limit.

Shay's B-day, Maple syrup, and Cryosurgery

This last week has been a little crazy for our family. Most of us have been sick (except Brian, Shay, and I) so it's been fun battling fevers and antibiotics, but also trying to do field trips, volunteering at school, doctors appointments, science projects, birthdays, basketball, ballet, iceskating etc. Whew!! I'm glad it's over. Although today is a catch up day on Tera and Shay's science projects, so I will let you know if we survive or not. We went to Brookside Nature Center to see the Maple tree farm they have. I have to tell you, it was one of my favorite field trips I have ever been on. Yep, we had our baby and feel so blessed. Sorry it has taken me so long to post, it's been an adventure that we never expected this last week, but now we are all well and happy. She was 6 pounds 9 ounces and is 19 inches long. I'll write the story soon. Here's some pictures ... Brynley in the NICU.... Going home day!

Club Feet

Brynley was born with club feet. She had to have casts on both legs up to her thighs for eight weeks. She had new casts put on every week and a half to two weeks. During this time she had surgery on her tendons so they will grow longer. She finally graduated to braces that she had to wear night and day for six weeks. Now, she is out of her braces during the day and just wears them at night until she is four or five years. Phew! It's been a long process, but we are just grateful that this is the only problem she has had to deal with. So, here are some pictures of her casts and braces, thought you might enjoy!
