Work Christmas Party



Every first Saturday in December Brian's work at the Applied Physics Laboratory has a family Christmas party. Every year we are sooo excited to go! This year they had Dora the Explorer and Boots walking around, they had all you can eat ice cream bars, a yummy lunch and dessert, Santa Claus, face painting, magic show and a one man circus show. Our kids love it and we do too.

This year was a little crazy. There were so many people there, it was almost hard to walk around. Ashtyn even got lost once in all the people and by the time we found her so was crying. Thankfully we got there early though, so we saw the shows and then sat on Santa's lap when the second shows started.



So, my girls have always been a little scared of Santa. I always just expect it. We stand in line the whole time and I make sure they know that they are going to be sitting on his lap and they seem fine about it, until we get there. Then they usually freak out a little. Well, this year was better. It was only Ashtyn that freaked out, so Tera and Shay just sat on his lap.

It's kind of funny that Ashtyn wasn't scared of the gigantic Dora and Boots though and the older girls were. So, we got a picture of the older girls with santa and Ashtyn with Dora and Boots. I couldn't get Ashtyn alone with Dora, so we have a cute little girl who was a little camera shy in the picture with her. (:

I love the chocolate all over Ashtyn's face! My kids would have it all over their clothes too.

What fun. Selena would've been in heaven with Dora and Santa in the same room! Chris needs to work with Brian.

Looks like so much fun! Oh, and if I were Ashtyn, I'd much rather hug a big stuffed animal than sit on some silly old guy's lap too.

I loved your Christmas card! Everyone looks so beautiful. Thank You SO much. I can't believe how much everyone has grown over the past year. We miss you guys!

Shay's B-day, Maple syrup, and Cryosurgery

This last week has been a little crazy for our family. Most of us have been sick (except Brian, Shay, and I) so it's been fun battling fevers and antibiotics, but also trying to do field trips, volunteering at school, doctors appointments, science projects, birthdays, basketball, ballet, iceskating etc. Whew!! I'm glad it's over. Although today is a catch up day on Tera and Shay's science projects, so I will let you know if we survive or not. We went to Brookside Nature Center to see the Maple tree farm they have. I have to tell you, it was one of my favorite field trips I have ever been on. Brynley Anne Whipple

Yep, we had our baby and feel so blessed. Sorry it has taken me so long to post, it's been an adventure that we never expected this last week, but now we are all well and happy. She was 6 pounds 9 ounces and is 19 inches long. I'll write the story soon. Here's some pictures ... Brynley in the NICU.... Going home day!

Club Feet

Brynley was born with club feet. She had to have casts on both legs up to her thighs for eight weeks. She had new casts put on every week and a half to two weeks. During this time she had surgery on her tendons so they will grow longer. She finally graduated to braces that she had to wear night and day for six weeks. Now, she is out of her braces during the day and just wears them at night until she is four or five years. Phew! It's been a long process, but we are just grateful that this is the only problem she has had to deal with. So, here are some pictures of her casts and braces, thought you might enjoy!
